Progress update on Project 333 Mid Engine Hell Ride….

New fabricated 9'' Ford Housing
I started on the rearend housing. I used the larger 3.250” Dia. axle tubes and a Strange Engineering center section housing. I made the rear brace from 2”x3” square tubing. The ends are tacked into place after I took this pic, thanks to Jimmy @ FutureTech race cars in Mentor Ohio. He tact them in place while in his rear end jig for me to ensure their proper placement since I do not have this jig . I still need to add the chassis mount brackets and the drain and fill bungs. Next I need to make a fixture to hold the rear end housing into place and setup the chassis table.
The axles are Strange 35 spline gun drilled w/ lightened axle flanges using 5/8” wheel studs. Should prove to be a real strong setup for this new car.

This pic is actually from when I bent the front dropped axle…..since this pic I had added wheelie bars and made a outside of the box chassis adjustment that turned out to work great. It allowed for a 9.62 E.T. slip @ 139 mph and change…Then backed it up w/ the 9.57 !…nothing counts unless you can back it up !……………..Littleman Dave

The Truck is making some Great Power……Only problem is the chassis can’t handle it…..Littleman
First Time I ever had to get out of the gas……But the good news is …It clicked off a 1.276 60′ time….
2nd vid was the next pass 9.74 w/ a 1.30 60′ time @ 132 mph…………

9.73 Pass @ the 2011 June Thompson Gasser Meet
First I need to thank Bob Wenzelburger for the photo !..Thanks, Bob
Second, I need to thank Tony and his father @ Ross Racing Engines out of Niles Ohio for helping me reach my goal !
The Truck actually pulled both wheels @ the launch…not too bad for a Ohio plated HotRod…..
I finally broke into the 9’s this past Friday evening while running @ the 2011 June 4th Thompson Gasser Meet……I creep-ed up on the carb tuning…then turned up the wick on the nitrous and was able to get them bothto work in concert together. I had to have the 12 carb jets close, had to have the 12 nitrous jets correct along w/ both the fuel pressure for the carbs and nitrous correct. Laying down a 9.73 e.t. @ 135.32 on a 10.85 dial in..ha ha ha …kinda blew that away…..not to mention my Truck ran just as fast as most of the Blown Alky Injected cars…….This engine is a Bad Mutha………..Despite what a few think…I guess they have no idea what bad really is…………..I know I can still squeeze another 3-4 tenths out of it…But I am better off retiring the Truck from the Strip before my luck runs out….I should build a short Digger and go chase after a few Hemi’s w/ my little old SBC with my antique six-two’s..I need to find a home for the this Engine and that sounds like fun.
I also continue to gather the parts needed for the Mid Engine Roadster. I am just waiting on the Transmission so I can do a full blown mock-up which should be any day now………Littleman

Here is the Brodix Short-Block for the new DragCar…….All Aluminum Brodix Block, 421 cubic inch , 4.160 bore x 3.875 Stroke….All Thanks to Ross Racing Engines out of Niles Ohio…Thanks Tony !
When we are done w/ this SBC……..It will make most Hemi’s urinate themselves..Ha Ha Ha…………..Littleman Dave

New Strange 9'' center section
The new center section for the new DragCar arrived the other day. It’s an aluminum 9” chuck from Strange Engineering called Ultra, it is designed to handle some big power and is really light. It is setup w/ a female coupler and lightweight 35 spline spool and very big aluminum pinion support. I have Strange axles on the way as well as housing parts………Still researching and collecting parts for a more in depth mock up…Then it will be time to start bending tubing ! ……..I have also have picked up the short block for this project. It is a Brodix Aluminum 421 cubic inch SBC rotating assembly w/ lightweight crank and rods, I am on the hunt for some 18 degree heads ect…..This should be fun!…….Thanks, Littleman Dave

27 T Roadster
I have been working allot and have not had too much play time in the back Garage…I just started playing w/ this fiberglass 27 T Roadster body, I am still not sure if I like the 27 T or use a Model A Roadster body instead. The T is narrower over the Model A , but I can pie cut the A body as well and alter it’s shape….I am shooting for a 103” wheelbase, which should prove to be real fun to drive. This thing will be real light and dangerous !
I am still up in the air over the power plant choice as well…….It will be a 392 Hemi or a SBC……You just cannot beat the SBC for it’s lighter weight and power potential over the Hemi……..Later, Littleman Dave

4130
Or you just see a bunch of tubing on the shop floor !..he he
But I see a Drag Car…Moving this 4130 Moly tubing around makes me want to build a new light weight frame for DeathsDoorStep…I should have been using this light weight 4130 tubing all along…..The new car will be much lighter than anything I have built…..I am finally converting my manual tube bender to hydraulics, parts should be here soon…More to come…..Littleman
